Our Aims

Our aims are to provide your child with good quality child care where your child will have fun while learning through play. Children start with us aged 2 years and stay with us until school age. We have a bright and airy playroom which displays the children’s own artwork. We provide a variety of experiences to help your child develop through "The Foundation Stage" as set out by The Government. We are registered to take funded 2, 3 & 4 year olds.

Our outside area provides the same opportunities as inside the children explore their senses in the 'Sensory Garden', make mud pies in the 'Mud Kitchen', grow fruit & vegetables for snack in the 'Garden', develop an understanding of mini-beasts in the 'Wild Garden'. Run and climb on the grass & timber trail.

Tessa Spiller
Supervisor

I have an NVQ Level 3 in Child Care & Education, I also have 27 years of experience at Holyrood Playgroup having been a mum, a committee member, an assistant and since 1990 the supervisor.


Louise Clarke
Pre-School Assistant

I have a Level 3 BTEC in Early Years. I spend my free time walking and fishing with My partner, our two children and 2 dogs. I am also passionate about music and rugby which My partner and I are heavily involved with.


Emma Halford
Pre-School Assistant

I have recently moved to Chard from Southampton where I worked in a preschool for 6 years. I have 5 children, and having my children encouraged me to start working in a pre-school, I have recently returned to work after my maternity leave.
